Burial Notes: John was the son of Edward F. Holcroft and Rebecca R.
He served as a private in April 1861 at Shukalak, MS. until June 1861. He re-enlisted in June 1862 at Pollard, AL. in Co. C2 Ala. Regt. and continued until surrender and was discharged by parole at Meridian, MS. in May 1865.
