Knights Templar
Established in England in the 18th century, the Masonic Templars claim descent from the Medieval Poor Soldiers in Christ.
TO distinguish the Masonic Knights Templar from other organizations that use the cross and crown they added the Latin phrase In Hoc Signo Vinces ("In this sign conquer".)
Early speculation has it that early Templar survivors were the power behind the foundation of Freemasonry.
