Beetle or Scarab

The Scarab Beetle symbolizes renewal and regeneration.

It laid its eggs in a ball of dung that was rolled across the ground. This act was related by the ancient Egyptians to the sun's heavenly circuit and its daily renewal. Source: A. Dale Northrup, Detroit's Woodlawn Cemetery (Great Britain: Arcadia Publishing, 2003), 112.
