Death of Mr. Huff May
Obituary provided by Charlotte Patterson. According to the death
index, Mr. May died in 1929.
On the 12th day of June, the home of Mrs. Huff May was made sad when the death
angel visited and carried away her husband and the father of eight children
living. Mr. May had been in ill health for many years, but was in bed only a few
days. We can not understand why he had to go but we know that God does every
thing well. His place is vacant that can never be filled. His voice is still and
his footsteps are silent. But the ones who knew him best, believed he is happy
and numbered among the angels.
He is survived by a wife, Mattie May, three sons, Vernon May of Eutaw, Walter
and Marvin May of Knoxville and five daughters, Nannie, Allie, Bessie and Buena
May of Knoxville, and Mrs. Lester Spender of Eutaw. He is also survived by
sisters, and other relatives. His body is now sleeping in the graveyard at New
Hop church.
A Niece.
