In the name of God Amen I John Johnston of the state & county aforesaid do make
and publish this my last will and testament as follows
1st I will that all my just debts be paid.
2nd I give and bequeath to my grandson Robert Emmet Johnston, my gold watch
3rd I give and bequeath to my grandson Samuel Caldwell Johnston my sorrel
saddle horse
4th I give and bequeath to my beloved wife during her life my negro boy
George and at her death to my grandson Thomas son of my daughter Pamela Wilson,
and should my grandson die previous to the death of my wife in that case I give
and bequeath said boy to my daughter Pamela at the death of my wife
5th I give and bequeath to my beloved wife all the residue of my property of
ever kind that I may be possessed of at my death whether real or personal bonds
note or money.
6th and lastly I do hereby appoint my loving wife Jane Johnston sole
executrix to my last will and testament In witness thereof I have hereunto
signed sealed set my hand and affixed my seal this first day of October in the
year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty two.
