Jacob Alford was b. ca. 1781 in Bute Co, NC, a son of John Alford and Chloe Pope, and died about 1839/40 in Greene Co, AL. He married Milbre Gray before 1801 in NC. BARBOUR/ MINOR Family

Mordecai Barbour b. ca Sep 1753 in VA and served as an officer in the Revolution. In the Culpepper Co VA Militia.He lived in Fredericksburg, VA until 1808, when he moved to Petersburg. He died in 1846 at the home of his daughter, Frances Barbour Minor in Greene Co, AL. Mordecai and his first wife, Elizabeth Strode, had a daughter, Frances Throckmorton Barbour, who m. Henry Minor in VA and moved to Huntsville, AL about 1815. They relocated in Tuscaloosa in 1824 and to Greene Co. in 1835. . Judge Henry Minor d. in Greene Co. in 1838, age 55 and was buried at Boligee. Henry and Frances had several children, including Philip Edward Barbour Minor, who m. Eliza Perry and had a daughter, Fanny Minor b. Marion, AL m. Mr. Riggs.

WILLIAMS Family

Isaac Williams was a Captain in Col. Henry Dyer’s Regiment of the TN Militia during the Creek Indian War. He was severely wounded in the Battle of Talledega in November 1813 and served until 25 Dec 1813. He drew a disability pension from 1818 until his death in 1847. He lived in Bedford Co, TN in 1817, in Perry Co, AL in 1821, in Greensboro, Greene Co, AL in 1822, in Carroll Co, MS in 1839 and until his death before August 1847, in Choctaw Co, MS. In 1839, he said he move to Carroll Co, MS to live with his sons and sons-in-law.

I believe you'll find Isaac alive and well living with his son Paul WIlliams in the 1850 census for Choctaw County, Mississippi, listed as being 76 years of age. The date of 1847 that you quote I believe is merely the final date listed in his pension record as that was the date of his final move which was from Carroll County, Mississippi to then adjacent Choctaw County. (Montgomery County was formed from Choctaw and Carroll County in 1871, and thus today separates the two counties.) Isaac was most likely living with his son-in-law Nathan Pitman's family while in Carroll County. Nathan Pitman had married Isaac's daughter Hannah Williams.

Due to the lost of most records of Choctaw County to fires and an apparently lack of known extant tombstone for Isaac, the date of his exact date is unknown, but since his pension record makes no further reference to any additional moves and since his name is not listed in the 1860 census household of his son Paul Williams, or for that matter in the 1860 census for Choctaw County, it is presumed he died between 1850 and 1860. (He did have other kinsmen in the area too, but his name is not found listed in the census for these households either . Also, a former slave of the Williams family, a Mrs. Wilson, interviewed in the 1940's and again in the early 1950's (Mrs. Wilson lived to be 100 years old) had no recollection of Paul Williams' father still living, although she could remember the Union calvary in December of 1864 as they passed through on their raid to burn the mills at Bankston, Miss., ransacking the Williams family home, bundling up all of the family's china in the dinning room table cloth and then breaking dropping and breaking the pieces their route to Bankston. [This was the Union calvary of then Colonel Grierson, later General Grierson who went on after the war to command the famous "Buffalo Soldiers," whose force were making their second famous/infamous raid through the heart of the State of Mississippi, this time the target being the last remaining operating shoe factory in the South, shoes being the Civil War what ball bearings were to World War II. The Williams family got off well though, as the home their neighbors, Allen Mather Powell, Jr. and his mother Frances (Lindsey) Powell Garrett, was torched and burned to the ground. WYNNE Family

WYNNE, Williamson - b. ca. 1760 in Pendleton Dist, SC, was a son of Major Joshua Wynne and wife, Elizabeth Appling. He was in the Revolution (1777-1778) as a private in Capt. Dixon’s Company, 1^st Regt, NC Line. He was also a private in Capt. Jacob Welch’s Company of the 5th NC Regt. From Chowan Co. in the War of 1812. He lived in NC and in GA before moving to Greene Co, AL. He died, intestate, on his plantation, Wynnewood, in 1829 and is buried there, near the home of his Coleman descendants. In April 1829, his son, Osmond Wynne, was named administrator of his estate. He was survived by his widow, Eleanor Magruder Wynne, and 5 children: Osmond and Erasmus, both over 21, and Williamson, Robert and Salina Ann, who were under 21. His wife, Eleanor, made her will 14 Feb 1848 and it was probated 26 Nov 1849. Her will was settled in 1854, Folio 1144 in Greene Co. The children of Williamson and Eleanor Wynne were: Joshua; Pattie, who d. unmarried; John; Osmond Appling b. bef 1807, who m. Frances Anderson; Erasmus b. 19 Dec 1807, m. 1) Jane Sophronia Anderson, sister of Frances, m. 2) Mrs. Elizabeth Smither; Robert b. 9 Nov 1812 m. Elizabeth Wynne; Williamson b. 1808-1813 m. 1) Palomie Smith, m. 2) Helen Robinson; Salina Ann b. Aft 1813 m. William Ferrell. Descendants of Osmond stayed in AL, but Robert, Erasmus and Williamson moved their families to TX.
