Died -- Our fellow citizen Major Wm. M.
Marr at Blount Springs on Sept. 5 after long illness. One of early
settlers of town. Born in Pittsylvania County, Va. Educated as a
physician, emigrated to Tennessee in 1798 and thence to this place in
1819. He was 49 Yrs. of age May last. Maj. Marr was a volunteer in Creek
War of 1813-1814. Left Wife and 11 children. |
