John Cockerell (1821) John was born
about 1790 in Nash County, North Carolina, the son of John Cockerell
Sr and Nancy Anne Winstead. John married Temperance Baker in 1814 in
Nash County, North Carolina. John, his wife Tempie and mother are
buried in the Pleasant Hill Cumberland Church Cemetery.
John Gandy (1819) Died intestate in
Greene County Alabama. Named heirs (Greene County Probate, Volume 2)
were: John H Gandy, Mourning Harris, Wiley H Gandy, Sophia Buford, R
R Gandy (died in Texas), A B Gandy, grandchildren Araminta and
Daniel Gandy. John is buried in the Pleasant Hill Cumberland Church Cemetery.

Hopkins Rice, son of
Revolutionary War Lt. John Rice of North Carolina, was born in Nash
County, North Carolina and moved to Greene county in the 1820s with
his wife Jane [Williams] Rice. Hopkins and Jane were the parents of
daughters Elizabeth, Willie, Frances, and Mary A. and sons John
Petty Rice, William Dorsey Rice, Alexander C. Rice, Neverson C.
Rice, Frierson Rice and Nelson Rice. Hopkins, Jane and some of their
children and grandchildren are buried in theRice Cemetery in Greene County, Alabama.
